Our best projects of 2023

Introduction

Enjoying culture in complete safety. This is what we have achieved with the repair and modernisation of the stage fire curtain. Every theatre has a metal curtain as a safety measure to prevent the spread of fire between the stage and the seats. This curtain has a hydraulic mechanism similar to lifts, but instead of raising a cabin with people, it raises the metal curtain. At General Elevadores we faced a unique challenge: the installation’s hydraulic power unit stopped working. The added challenge? This equipment was more than 20 years old. In many cases, the solution is to replace the equipment, but we had a bigger challenge: to repair it. Our technicians, with the help of our engineer Joaquín Fraiz, dismantled the hydraulic power unit, changing valves, gaskets, components... A real work of dedication and patience to raise the theatre curtain once again.

2. Lift for the disabled in the Faculty of Physics at the University of Seville.

We are going to change scenery and delve into a very important project, due to the solution it entailed in terms of mobility and accessibility, in a space with such high traffic and relevance as the Faculty of Physics at the University of Seville. We were awarded the project through a public tender and the objective was clear: to eliminate architectural barriers, making education accessible to all. In this particular case, the building already had a lift serving each floor, but between each floor there was a mezzanine, an obstacle that made accessibility difficult for people with reduced mobility. And so, we set about installing a specialised lift that could overcome this architectural challenge and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

3. Lift in the Ochavillo del Río Town Hall

Finally, one of the most outstanding projects of 2023 was the elimination of architectural barriers in the town hall of Ochavillo del Río through the installation of a lift. This project was also the result of a public tender and has improved accessibility and the quality of life of the municipality’s citizens. With the installation of the lift, we guaranteed a piece of equipment that integrates harmoniously with the building and meets the highest standards of accessibility, ensuring that every citizen can access the municipal facilities without limitations. This project was not only a technical task, but also a commitment to the community of Ochavillo del Río.

BONUS TRACK

As a complement to this Top 3 of the best projects of 2023, we would like to add one that is the result of the great work we have been developing in the city of Malaga. In addition to being responsible for installing the lifts in the Guadalmedina and Atarazanas stations of the Malaga Metro, they have once again placed their trust in us to maintain the equipment. These particular lifts require strict and careful maintenance, in addition to the fact that they must be serviced outside the hours of use, which is why our technicians perform their tasks in the early hours of the morning so as not to disturb passenger traffic. Moreover, breakdowns must be attended to immediately as this equipment is in constant operation. After such an exciting 2023, we are looking forward to 2024 with great enthusiasm and excitement. What new projects will be in store for us?
